Make a joyful noise!
Use your musical talents to praise God and help create a meaningful worship experience. At Epworth, we have several musical groups who have a passion for music and through their shared time in rehearsal leading worship form caring bonds of friendship to encourage one another in faith and life.
Twice a month in worship, this traditional choir leads congregational hymns and praises God with a special anthem. Several times a year, the choir leads the congregation in worship with a collection of pieces in an extended service of music. The choir’s repertoire consists of music from our Wesleyan heritage, classic choral music, as well as modern arrangements.
This diverse group of vocalists and instrumentalists provides musical leadership for worship twice a month, as well as various special services throughout the year. This team-led worship experience is dependent on the gifts and graces of participants. The praise team incorporates a variety of music including contemporary songs and traditional hymns with modern arrangements.
Handbells play in worship on a regular basis and plays for special Sundays throughout the year. This group is open to youth and adults. Experience is plus but, as they say, “If you can count, you can play bells!”
Our colorful handbells introduce young children to the world of bell choirs and provide a meaningful way for children to lead worship. Children as young as three participate. The only skill needed is color recognition. Children’s handbells rehearsal is only ten minutes right after worship for several weeks before a planned anthem.
