Whether you’re celebrating special life events like a baptism or marriage, or you’re facing the loss of a loved one, we’re here to walk with you.
Your wedding is the Christian celebration of your love and commitment to each other and to God. At Epworth United Methodist Church, we want to minister to you, through your wedding service. This sacred ceremony, in which you enter into a covenant with God and one other, creates the foundation for your marriage. By choosing to use a representative of God, and God’s Church, you are inviting God’s presence in your wedding and purposely asking for God’s blessing upon the marriage.
Our pastoral staff serves the community in a number of ways, not the least of which is care before, during and after the loss of a loved one. When a death is imminent our pastors are honored to come and pray with you. If there is time, please contact Pat Engel. When the death has occurred, our pastors and staff would also be honored to provide the service for your loved one here at the church, at the funeral home or graveside depending on the family’s decision. Christ is our hope for eternal life and we offer this hope to the surviving family and friends that their beloved is now in God’s eternal charge. All services will follow the United Methodist order.
Holy Baptism is a Covenant between an individual and God. It is God’s word to us, proclaiming our adoption by grace and our word to God, promising our response of faith and love. Epworth United Methodist Church welcomes your inquiry about the Sacrament of Baptism and we look forward to assisting your family with planning this special day. It is our desire to make your baptism a most memorable occasion. Persons of all ages can be baptized at Epworth. Non-members are encouraged to seek membership as soon as possible after being baptized. We baptize by sprinkling Holy Water and make the sign of the cross on the forehead with anointing oil to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit.
